Please Note: We DO NOT REPRESENT tenants in eviction actions. We represent landlords. If you are a tenant, we welcome you to contact one of the many competent tenant-rights lawyers in the City. While we sometimes handle security deposit cases under the Chicago Residential Landlord and Tenant Ordinance, we do not accept any other tenant-side engagements (like defending a tenant in an eviction) and will not be able to discuss any such issues with tenants who call our office – we can’t even answer a quick or simple question. We are sorry.
If you are a landlord, please see our post about telephone consultations
we are happy to have you give us a call to see if you have an issue we can assist with. We do not provide legal advice on that phone call. If you are interested in obtaining legal advice, you will need to call and set up an appointment for a paid consultation.
Please know that we are currently accepting new eviction landlord clients only in Cook County 1st District (Daly Center); 2nd District (Skokie); and 3rd District (Rolling Meadows). Also, we do not handle evictions related to foreclosure properties (ie. those arising as a result of a judicial sale) or those brought on behalf of a condominium association for unpaid assessments.
We bill eviction matters hourly at $295 per hour and other non-eviction landlord matters at $325 per hour. You can learn more about our billing practices for Cook County evictions by clicking here.
Please keep in mind that we do not, as a general rule, get involved in cases where a complaint has already been filed in the circuit court or where another attorney has worked on the case, and we do not “answer quick questions” from folks who do not want to hire us. As much as I wish we could be, we are not a “legal-help-desk”. We are currently not accepting cases outside of the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd districts of Cook County.
